Course Duration:

1 x 8 hours or 4 x 3.5 hours

Aim of the course:

To identify and address personal communication issues and goals. To gain skills, insight and confidence for individuals to be able to cope and effectively communicate throughout their lives.

Course Outline:

Working in small groups we explore individual communication challenges. We suggest various tools and techniques and use real-life experience scenarios to reflect and prompt discussions.  Roleplay actors in breakout rooms allow the opportunity for the attendees to experience and practise the various techniques they have learnt. Online communication chat for thoughts, breakthroughs and questions from attendees is available throughout the session.

Topics might include:

• Communication with patients
• Communication with relatives
• Communication with colleagues
• Insight
• Use of idiom and metaphor
• Cultural challenges
• Importance of paralinguistic features – diction, speed of speech, use of pauses, tone and volume
• Non-verbal communication – expression, emphasis, body posture

Delivered by:

A Medical Communications Specialist & Advanced Roleplay Actor/ Educator/Trainer and 2 x Roleplay Actors and Admin.

Attendees:

8 trainees

(Attendees will be given a Certificate of Participation)

Courses run throughout the year. Each course of 4 sessions runs over eight weeks. Attendees can choose each of their sessions from a selection of dates and times.

AM/PM slots available.

• individuals to book and pay privately

Costs:

All courses to be paid in advance, in full.

• Individual bookings total cost £800 (4 sessions - £200 per session per attendee)
• Group booking total cost £6,400 (based on 8 attendees x 4 sessions)
• One day version £400 per attendee per day (Minimum 8 attendees to maximum 12 per day)
